• Dr. Charlie Judge, a retired medical doctor who is now a Handicapping Sheets Track Judge. He has an enthusiastic love of racing and has a knack for figuring out the potential of each of the race horses.

• Veterinarian Dr. Brian Delp whose uncle trained Spectacular Bid. Dr. Delp works closely on the Laurel backstretch with veterinarian group, Stewart, Vallance and Yergey.

• Jockey agent, Jay Burtis. Jay is currently an agent for Forest Boyce and apprentice, Laura Lee Glasier. Laura Lee will be in attendance as well where she will tell us how her year has progressed since last we spoke with her at last year's Day at the Races. 

• Sal Sinatra who is part of the Stronach management team for the Maryland Jockey Club. Sal will give us an inside look into the everyday running of a racetrack and the future plans for Maryland  Racing.

                MLE client, Rolling Acres Show Stables, has been recently featured in the Chronicle of the Horse article “Laughing, Living and Working Together at Rolling Acres”. It is a beautiful piece detailing the three generations of horsemen and women in the Nicholson family. The family is so close that they all live on the same farm property in Brookeville, Maryland. They are such a tight-knit family that they were able to pull through the low points in their lives including when Pam, the eldest Nicholson daughter, spent a month in intensive care after almost dying from necrotizing fasciitis. The article goes on to describe the turning point in the Nicholson family business from cattle and automobile dealership to horse business. This change would forever alter the lives of the sisters Patty and Mary Lisa, allowing them to prosper in their professional riding careers. We are currently looking for one or two new working students to join our team. Candidates must have aspirations to ride at the upper-levels and already competing at the one-star level. This would be a great opportunity for someone who aspires to one day ride on the U.S. Team! Not only will your riding be coached but you will also have the opportunity to learn how to manage and run a barn. Candidates must have completed high school and have their own vehicle for transportation. We are looking for a special candidates to fill open working student positions starting immediately. Our ideal candidate has a good work ethic, strong time-management skills and a keen interest in learning, as well as their own method of transportation. You must be able to work well with others, take direction and have a great attitude. Practical experience with horses is a must, and experience with young horses and a familiarity with eventing would be helpful. We maintain a 6-day workweek with consistent barn hours. Most days will consist of riding for the first part of the day with routine horse management and the availability of a lesson in the afternoon. Traveling to shows and events for the right person. Must be at least 18 years old and have your own transportation. Live-in on farm situation available for the right person.  Compensation will be in exchange for board for one horse, lessons, clinics, competitions and other opportunities.
